Family fun at Waypoints Summer Fete

Waypoints dementia care home in Verwood will be hosting a Summer Fete on Sunday 4th August to strengthen links with the community it serves.

There will be fun activities for all ages from Princess and Pirate face painting and the star appearance of a Shetland pony, to craft stalls, afternoon tea, a tombola, and a raffle with the chance to win a framed pastel drawing kindly donated by the husband of a former Waypoints resident.

The event from 11am to 3pm will also help raise funds for good causes including the Woofability Dogs charity – which enables people with disability to live independently with the practical assistance of four legged friends to carry out daily tasks – Alzheimers’ charities and towards activities for residents of Waypoints Verwood.

Waypoints Verwood Manager Carl Bradley said: “We believe it is important to have good links with the local community because our residents enjoy and benefit greatly from social activities. When young people come into our care home they can be a real tonic for the residents and it helps to foster better understanding of dementia which is touching many more lives.”

The 40-bed Waypoints Verwood home, which was the first to be opened by Dorset-based Waypoints Care Group, is in Ringwood Road.

For more information call the home on 01202 812250.
