International Nurses Day - Waypoints Marked the Occasion

International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every year on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth (May 12th), to mark the contributions nurses make to society.

Waypoints marked the occasion by sending each of our 33 nurses a flower and message across our 3 dementia-specialist care homes in the south including Upton, Verwood and Plymouth.   We chose to send each nurse a peony for its special meaning as it symbolises compassion as well as a happy life and good health.

Andrew Baxendine, Managing Director, added “we’re proud of all our staff as they help to make the lives of our residents living with dementia as happy and comfortable as possible.  The flower and message we sent to each of our nurses on International Nurses Day is just a small token of appreciation as they make such a huge difference to each and every one of our residents’ lives – thank you.”
